The Amphenol Standard or AN range of connectors offers a heavy duty, threaded coupling
mechanism, silver or gold plated crimp or solder termination, in aluminum with a variety of
plating options that include both cadmium and non-cadmium based processes. Insert materials
are available that will withstand the ravages of chemicals and cutting oils prevalent in
manufacturing operations today. Over two hundred and fifty insert patterns provide a mixture
of 16 gage to 0 gage contacts and also include coaxial and thermocouples for more
sophisticated applications.
Our plating varieties include aesthetically pleasing black zinc and nickel alternatives for
those applications requiring a cad-free product and a conductive surface.
The Minature or PT range of connectors offers the advantage of a 20-gage contact to increase
circuit carrying capacity of a size 24 shell by 30%. Widely popular in the Process Control
and Geophysical markets, these connectors offer a three-point bayonet locking mechanism for
quick coupling. Materials include aluminum and stainless steel options. Our PT series can be
provided with the enviornmental versions in crimp or solder machined contacts as well as the
non-environmental AIPT, provided withstamped and formed contacts on a reel for easy
termination.

The Rail Mass Transit market demanded a connector that would survive the harsh environment
of winters in the Northeast and at the same time withstand the salt air environment of
costal areas. Amphenol provided those connectors in the GT and AC Reverses Bayonet series.
Both these series provide triple redundant, full mated indicators to guarantee mating is
accomplished in the most trying applications. Commonality of inserts and contact with the
Standard seres insure we have an insert pattern to fit any application.
Amphenol provides a Low Smoke Low Toxity molded insert material for Rail Mass Transit
applications.
