Fiber optic product offerings from Amphenol include the following:
Rugged multi-channel
D38999 Series III Connectors. This product incorporates the proven
MIL-T-29594 family of termini into the popular MIL-DTL-38999 package.
These connectors are available in aluminum, stainless steel, or composite
shell material.
Size 16 Single Mode, and size 16 and 20 Multi-Mode Termini conforming to Mil-T-29504 are available. A butt joint interface is guaranteed through the incorporation of a spring loaded contact design.
Rectangular
connectors are available with fiber optic termini as well. These
connectors include our popular Brush contact MIL-C-55302 style connector,
as well as our LRM family.
Field Deployable
Lens connectors, developed for battlefield conditions and quickly
deployable large capacity links. Incorporating expanded beam lens
technology, the interface is easily cleaned, and can survive harsh
environments. This connector, referred to as the CTOS connector, is
available in 2 and 4 channel configurations, and will accomodate both
single and multi-mode cable.
Amphenol also provides completed fiber optic cable assemblies. Our cable assemblies are currently in use on space, military and commercial avionics, marine, and ground based applications. Amphenol has extensive experience in designing and manufacturing fiber optic cable assemblies for both harsh and benign environments. Our assembly personnel are adept at processing a wide variety of termini, including MIL-T- 29594, SC, ST, FC, SMA, and MT.
Termination tool
kits are also available from Amphenol. These tool kits include the
carrying case, heat gun, crimping and stripping tools, polishing pads and
paper, and instructions. These kits facilitate both physical contact (PC)
finish, as well as air gap (AG).
Because of our advanced work in avionics systems, fiber optic backplanes are now available. These electro-optical backplane interconnect systems accommodate high speed signal processing. Available in a vaiety of form factors, these systems integrate the total electrical and optical rack interdonnect needs into one discreet package. The fiber terminations are based on the commercially proven MT technology, with ribbon array backplane connections.
An additional product
derived from our advanced avionics efforts in a MIL-DTL-38999 III
connector package that incorporates the MT Termini. These connectors offer
a high fiber density in a relatively small package, and feature the benefits of a proven environmental connector.
