High Speed Data Transmission for Non-EE's - Part 4 - Control Who Talks

b2ap3_thumbnail_Blogpost-Image-6.jpgAnother way to accomplish this same goal of reducing crosstalk would be to put quiet pairs of people between the pairs of people that like to talk, but like the spread-out model, the total number of high speed communicators is the same, but they may not be able to communicate as quickly.

Now just because the pairs of people that like to talk are separated, they may restrict what they talk about with each other, as they know that the quiet people adjacent to them are listening.  So while this strategy can be effective to minimize crosstalk between the communicating pairs, the characteristic impedance of the now dedicated high speed lines may be modified such that the amount of the data transferred is limited, but if done smartly, this can be enhanced.

In Part 5, we'll discuss "isolation".  Stay tuned.
