US Navy awards contracts for more Arleigh Burke-class destroyers

Shipbuilders Huntington Ingalls Industries and General Dynamics Bath Iron Works recently received contracts from the U.S. Navy for more Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyers

The U.S. Navy recently awarded shipbuilders Huntington Ingalls Industries and General Dynamics Bath Iron Works contracts to build several Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyers.

 

Bath Iron Works' contract is for the design and construction of three ships, while Huntington Ingalls’ contract is for six ships.

 

The contracts contain options to build more ships over the next five years. The value of the contracts is currently undisclosed.
