Vietnam Airlines orders 50 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft

The planes are expected to eventually replace older aircraft in the carrier's fleet.

Vietnam Airlines and Boeing have reached a deal for the Vietnamese flag carrier to acquire 50 Boeing 737 MAX-8 aircraft.

 

The deal is valued at $7.8 billion.

 

The MAX 8 planes are expected to eventually phase out older aircraft in the carrier’s fleet. Vietnam Airlines operates a fleet of approximately 100 aircraft.
