Amphenol Aerospace's High Speed and Fiber Optics portfolio includes contacts, fiber optic termini, and connectors to complete high-speed cable assemblies. Our high-speed contacts include Octonet, Quadrax, Split-Pair Quadrax, Differential Twinax, Twinax, Triax, and Coax contacts. Our fiber optic termini includes MIL-PRF-29504, ARINC 801, JSFC, and MT ferrules. Both the contacts and termini can be housed in a wide variety of custom high-speed connector designs. We can then provide complete high-speed, fiber optic cable assemblies designed and manufactured in our locations.

High Speed Contacts

High Speed Contacts include Octonet Contacts, a 10G Ethernet-complaint size 8 contact in both crimp and PC tail versions; Quadrax Contacts; Oval Contact System (OCS) which is capable of delivering data transfer speeds of 10Gbps per pair; Split-Pair Quadrax, which can support speeds up to 6.5 Gbps per pair; Differential Twinax; Concentric Twinax Contacts; Matched Impedance Coaxial Contacts; Coaxial Contacts; High-Frequency Coaxial Contacts; and FiberQuad Ruggedized Quadrax Contacts, which embeds a fiber optic transmitter or receiver within a Quadrax contact, along with the support electronics, to provide a plug-and-play solution. High Speed Connectors

High Speed Connectors utilize our High Speed Contacts in a wide variety of connector styles. D38999 Series III connectors are often used to house all of our High Speed Contacts including the Oval Contact System (OCS), which achieves high speed data transmission up to 10 Gbps per pair. Many of our Rectangular Connectors also have options for High Speed Contacts. Our newest High Speed Connector Series is the Centaur Series, which is housed in a D38999 Series III connector housing and can support many protocols like USB 3.0, 10G Ethernet, 25G Ethernet, 40G Ethernet, 100G Ethernet, SATA, eSATA, Micro-SATA, DVI, HDMI, and more. Centaur Cable Assemblies are also available.

 

Fiber Optic Termini

Fiber Optic Termini includes MIL-PRF-29504 style, HD20, JSFC, ARINC 801, and MT Ferrules. MIL-PRF-29504 is available in both single-mode and multi-mode versions. JSFC is approved for use in F-35, Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) military aircraft applications. ARINC 801 is a genderless fiber optic termini that use a precision 1.25 mm ceramic ferrule. MT Ferrules are the industry-standard, very high-density plastic ferrules available in either 12-fiber or 24-fiber versions, in multi-mode PC, single-mode PC, and single-mode APC configurations.

 

Fiber Optic Connectors

Fiber Optic Connectors use all of our Fiber Optic Termini mainly with D38999 Series III-style connectors. These connectors include CF38999 Multi-Channel Fiber Optic Connectors, ARINC 801 Connectors, MT38999 Multi-Channel Connectors with MT Ferrules, Fiber Optic Feedthrough Connectors, and Fiber to Antenna (FTTA) Connectors which combines standard fiber optic LC components and copper contacts in a rugged, affordable package. Many of our Rectangular Connectors also have options for Fiber Optic Termini. 

 

High Speed and Fiber Optic Cable Assemblies

To complete our High Speed portfolio, we also design, manufacture, and test complete High Speed and Fiber Optic Cable Assemblies using our High Speed and Fiber Optic Connectors, High Speed Contacts, and Fiber Optic Termini. We can build all types of cables from a simple point-to-point cable to a complex, multi-branch cable system. Testing is performed on 100% of the cable assemblies at Amphenol before they are shipped to make sure they meet customer requirements, including DWV, IR, and continuity. Every completed fiber optic cable assembly receives 100% inspection for both insertion loss and visual defects. Interferometers are used for accurate end-face geometry testing.
