Air Canada Orders 8 Airbus A350-1000 Widebody Aircraft, Secures Rights for 8 More

Deliveries are slated to begin in the second half of 2030, with the aircraft to be powered by Rolls-Royce XWB97 engines.

Air Canada disclosed on Feb. 11 an order for eight Airbus A350-1000 widebody aircraft, with rights to purchase eight additional A350-1000s, as part of the flag carrier’s fleet modernization initiative and to enhance its long-haul travel capabilities.

 

Air Canada stated the aircraft will enter service with its next-generation cabin standard, including updated in-flight entertainment and connectivity.

 

The aircraft will be powered by Rolls-Royce XWB97 engines. The A350-1000 has a maximum range of approximately 9,000 nautical miles.

 

Air Canada and Airbus said deliveries are scheduled to begin in the second half of 2030.
