Lockheed Martin Awarded Contract to Upgrade Chilean F-16 Fleet

The upgrades feature bringing a portion of the fleet up to the M6.6 standard.

Lockheed Martin has been awarded a $177 million contract to perform upgrades on Chile’s F-16 fleet.

 

The work will feature performing M6.6 standard upgrades on 36 of the country’s F-16 fighters, which includes outfitting the planes with the Link 16 tactical communications system and advanced identification friend or foe (IFF) capabilities. The M6.6 program is an F-16 modernization initiative.

 

The work will take place in Fort Worth, Texas, Greenville, South Carolina, and Chile, with an expected completion date of Nov. 30, 2032.
