Potential sale of Chinook helicopters to Germany approved by US State Department

A possible sale of 60 Boeing CH-47F Chinook helicopters and associated equipment to Germany was approved by the U.S. State Department recently.
Germany opted to purchase the tandem-rotor helicopter to improve its heavy-lift capabilities.
The potential deal is worth up to $8.5 billion.
